Just a couple of days before,I bought Nokia 5800,popularly dubbed as Nokia’s answer to the Iphone. When I tried to install application on the phone,I was greeted with an unpleasant warning “Expired Certificate”-and I was not able to install a single application.Going through forums I came across the old way to set my mobile’s date to a back date. But it didn’t work.
Again after losing some hair strands,I came across the working solution to the problem. Here it is.
Format your phone to fix “Expired Certificate Error”
I tried to rest my phone to factory defaults.Even it didn’t work.
Then it was time to give my phone a hard shock by formatting it.Here is how to do it.
Step 1:backup your phone contents.
step 2:Removing your memory card is recommended.
step 3:Enter the code *#7370# on your dialer screen. It will ask you to continue restore.Say a big YES .
step 4:IT will ask you a security code.By default it is 12345 .Enter it and you are done. The phone will restart. And your problem is gone..
I have tested this method on two Nokia 5800s. and this method WORKS.If your Nokia phone is giving you certificate nightmare then just try this method .Once you do this you will be able to install all fantastic application available for this phone.
If you have also solved the problem using this method then just let me know in comments.
