BSNL GPRS Activation and Configuration Settings

If you are a BSNL mobile subscriber and want to get Internet on your mobile through GPRS then you will need to configure your mobile for GPRS access.

But before configuring, you need to get GPRS services activated for your mobile.Earlier this year BSNL has activated GPRS on all prepaid mobiles.So you just need to configure your mobile and go surfing.Postpaid users will need to activate it as there are different plans for postpaid users.However, in case GPRS in not activated by default in your area, you can activate it by sending an SMS as follows,depending on what type of user you are.

BSNL Prepaid

SMS GPRSPRE to 53733 .It can take 24 hrs to get activated and you will get a confirmation message after activation.

BSNL postpaid

After you decide on the plan SMS GPRS49 or GPRS199 to 53733.It can take 24 hrs to get activated and you will get a confirmation message after activation.

Configuration settings for GPRS access

After your activation is done you need to configure your mobile to get GPRS data.You have to send a message to 58355 which contains your mobile model.For example-If you have a Nokia N70 ,SMS “Nokia N70″ to 58355.

Soon you will get WAP,Portal,GPRS and MMS settings from BSNL.Save them all to your mobile.Use either WAP or GPRS as your default access point if your mobile asks for it.

Why are so many settings given for-

BSNL Portal settings -Enables your mobile to browse BSNL WAP portal i.e. http://wap.cellone.in

BSNL WAP settings-Enables your mobile to browse any WAP enabled portal.

BSNL GPRS-Enables your mobile to browse any site on Internet.Moreover this setting is responsible to get Internet on your Laptop/PC using your mobile.

BSNL MMS-Needed to send and receive MMS.

After configuration it’s time to browse the Internet.Opera mini is a better browser than the default one.You can download Opera Mini and then start using it to know why it’s the world’s most popular mobile Web browser.

Now if automatic configuration doesn’t work on your mobile then here are the resources to help you out-

Know the basic terms and facts of GPRS settings.

You can read General settings for Nokia mobiles.
Get BSNL GPRS Settings for Nokia s40 3rd Edition Mobiles for example

Nokia 3500C,6300,6131,6233,6270,660 slide,6600 fold,3600 slide,6300i,5610Xpress music,5310xpress music,6500 and so on

Get BSNL GPRS Settings for Nokia 3230 (and other S60,2nd Edition Mobiles)

Having all the above resources can help you to setup GPRS access manually.If you still have difficulty you can let me know in comments.

Bsnl prepaid gprs service
And my laptop is dell studio it do not have bluetooth.
So anyone can help me to use internet on laptop through gprs?

Install Nokia OVI suit, Connect mobile with USB with Laptop, click on OVI icon , click on internet icon on ovi suit, connectivity information will come

you just do one thing that you install opera mini browser on your nokia 7210, but still if you donot have it , there is no problem .I will make it.
step1: Go to the configuration option in settings of the mobile.
step 2: Go the personal config. settings and click on options and click add new. select web
there you would have the option of ACCOUNT NAME–it is optional you can keep as
it is. set use preferred access point to NO. then go to Access point Settings and put the name of the ACCESS POINT as bsnlnet and forget about the rest .
go the back menu and activate the web which you recently created.
make it default and got the your default browser and enjoy internet.

I have LG GU220 mobile with BSNL connection. PC suit installed.
when I connect the mobile to PC the following table appears and to be filled up
Country – India
Network provider
Call type
Profile
APN
Call No.
User Name
Passward

The JTO concerned advised me to type bsnlnet across APN. But it is not responding. Asking call type, profile, call no. etc.

But I am able to access airtelinternet acess in auto mode.In automode also bsnl not accessible aftertyping bsnlnet across APN as advised by JTO

apn:gprs.bsnl.in
call number:*99***1# (same as airtel)
user name and password is not neccesary.

I AM UNABLE TO GET GPRS SETTINGS FOR MICROMAX X 360 FROM BSNL. THE SETTINGS SENT BY THEM IS NOT DOWNLOADED FULLY. MMS IS GETTING CONFIGURES AND WHEREAS BSNLNET AND BSNL LIVE ARE NOT GETTING CONFIGURED. HOPE I WILL GET THE RESULT SOON.

I have activated bsnl gprs on my mobile. i also got settings from bsnl official site.my handset is os samsung star wifi(GT-S5233W).when i tried access internet through bsnllive it gives out an error as “No responce”.please help me.

I am using NOKIA C-2-03 My contact no. is 9415156230( Pre Paid) .GPRS service actvated since last about 2 years .previously my Hand Set was NOKIA 2600-C .But at this time i am using above mentioned Hand Set NOKIA C-2-03 .I called bsnl service call center on 1503.The customer supprt officer send setting online.I tried several times to connect internet but not connected. pls tell me the what is the problem & what I can do to avail the service( GPRS)
